OG 11 Outing 08/10: Dickson Farewell Outing 2 - Regulars (July 2010)
Thursday, July 29, 2010 @ 10:53 PM

Hi Guys, Here is the OG secretary. Just a brief summary on the outing we had on Sat 170710. We met up at Shaw Towers near Bugis and have our lunch. However, as Jieyang had tuition, he did not join us for lunch and Dickson, Yuhan and I went to have Thai food for lunch. After our lunch we went to Bugis Junction as Dicky needs to buy some stuff for his Uni mate in Australia. We then meet Jieyang at Cold Storage and as Jieyang wanted to buy a watch for himself, we went to Orchard to find a suitable watch for him. We went from Heeven to Takashimaya to Ion Orchard to CK Tang and even Wisma Atria. Dickson then left us to have high tea with his parents. However, all the watches were still not suitable for him. We then went shopping around Ion Orchard and I found out that the 3rd and 4th story is only for high class people as the things there are rather expensive. Around 6pm, Yuhan met up with Guan Li and they left in a cab while Jieyang and I went to meet up with Dickson. We continued to find a watch and we felt that it would be best that Jieyang finds a watch for himself alone. Jieyang then went to City Hall while Dickson went to Lorong Chuan as he needs to attend his friend birthday while I went home.

Dickson, on behalf of OG 11, I would like to wish you all the best in your studies as you embark in Semester 2 of your first year. We also wish you good health and strength. Study hard and play hard. Will meet you in Novemeber when you return for your long break.

OG 11 Outing 07/10: Celebrated Dickson, Huixin, Yuhan and Yanho's birthday (July 2010)
Monday, July 5, 2010 @ 1:53 AM

Hi Elevenies, here is your OG Secretary.

On 3rd July 2010, OG 11 met up at Dickson’s house to celebrate the birthdays of Yuhan, Yanho, Huixin and Dickson.

The OG Regulars met up earlier at 4pm at Bugis MRT to buy presents for the birthday boys and girls. We were supposed to meet at Bugis MRT at 4pm but somehow Jieyang was late for 25 minutes and made Yingling and I so fed up that we both wanted him to buy us drink. Yuhan will meet us later at Bugis as well so we decided to buy her present first.

The first shop we went to was a shop selling necklace and we thought of buying one for Huixin. However, we decided to see other things first before we make any decision. We also thought of buying biscuits for Dickson as a present at first but we wanted to see more before coming to a decision. When we reached a shop (I usually remember shop names) selling clothes and handbags Yingling thought of buying a dress for Yuhan as that dress fits Yuhan so much. We also pondered whether to buy her a handbag. As we do not know which colour Yuhan likes, Yingling called her and finally we got her a grey colour handbag. After that we went to a shop selling Domo items and other soft toys and decided to buy Dickson a Domo slipper and also bought a notebook for Huixin. Now left Yanho – What should we buy for him? We pondered on several items like a T-shirt, I-phone cover and a small bag. We then decided to buy a watch for him and we use the size of Jieyang’s wrist to roughly measure the size of Yanho’s wrist.

After buying all the presents, there was still time and we went to MacDonald’s to have ice-cream. After our ice-cream we went to take a MRT to Toa Payoh. When we reached Toa Payoh MRT, we saw Dickson (such a coincidence) and we went to say Hi to him. Jieyang then drove his car from his house to the bus stop near Old Chang Kee and we took a short trip to Dickson’s house. When we reached Dickson’s house, Khia Peng was already there waiting for us in her Suzuki Swift and Yanho was already in the house waiting for us. After placing our belongings in Dickson’s room, we went to have our dinner. While we were having our dinner, Joanne arrived and luckily there were some dishes which she can eat since she is a vegetarian. During dinner, I thought that the plate of fruit was Honeydew but it was in fact apple with mayonnaise and got scolded by Yingling (Always get scolding from her).

After our meal, we went up to Dickson’s room and we started to chit-chat until Yanho suggested playing a special type of Titi. To our shock the cards were cartoon pictures of human in erotic positions. As I am not the type who plays card games I did not play the game and was busy counting money. Joanne left us early as she had something on and Huixin and ‘took over’ her. Huixin just came as she was catching the NDP Preview at Padang. As the World Cup between Argentina and Germany was starting, we presented the presents to the birthday boys and girls and decided to cut the cake in Dickson’ room instead of at his dining area. Dickson was a little confused when he took the cake in that he broke his GIGANTIC lighter.

When the match was in the 3rd minute, Germany scored the first goal and I screamed ‘GOAL’ and everyone became so excited. Everyone became distracted and decided to sing the last verse of the birthday song only. Everyone was screaming when each team was about to score and Khia Peng was so happy that her ‘Banana’ goalkeeper from Germany save quite a few shots in the first half (The goalkeeper was wearing yellow and he seems like a banana from far). When we were watching, Yuhan asked which team was in black and which team was in blue. Jieyang then insulted her saying that we watched the match so long and you still not sure. Then he told Yuhan that the man in red was the referee and not a third team playing on the field. During the second half, we were so worried that we will miss the last bus that we kept on checking the SBS Transit website. Khia Peng was so happy that Germany was about to score that she screamed a little loud. She asked Dickson whether her screaming will disturb his neighbours and he told her that he would bring his neighbours to her if they complain about her noise. After the match ended 4-0 in favour of Germany at 11.45pm, we took a group photo and left Dickson’s house.

On behalf of OG 11, I would like to thank Dickson for his warm hospitality and also for preparing dinner for the OG.

This outing is quite interesting as it is the first time that I watch football with friends. Hope that subsequent outings will be as fun as this one. There is no one’s birthday in August and I hope we can still meet up.

OG Members present: Dickson, Yingling, Yuhan, Jieyang, Joshua, Joanne, Huixin,
Khia Peng and Yanho.
OG Members absent with apologies: Wanling, Shiqi, Xinni and Richard.
